Protesting Justice

Here we go again. We have around 7000 of our civilian population dead in the streets due to an act of aggression, some say, an act of war. A sneak attack surpassing the attack that drew us into World War II perpetrated against an American city by a group of people who hate our way of life and think they will be rewarded by God if they die in the act of killing us. Most of the bodies have not been recovered. Wives and husbands, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters are left to look on in grieving horror as heavy equipment is used to move tons of debris off the site where their loved ones lie murdered.

Seems like a perfect time for the cockroaches from America's colleges and universities to swarm out of their "reality free" ivory towers and hold protests in Washington DC doesn't it? Yes ladies and gentlemen of the United States, you have sent your precious little Susies and Johnnys off to the University for a higher education and what you get in return are anti-American whining little turncoats with zero understanding of what it takes to afford them the freedoms that they so callously flaunt. Having had their minds filled with nothing in the government high schools they were ripe for the picking by tenured American hating professors who infest our college classrooms.

People will tell you that the youth and their warped professors have every right to protest in the United States and they are absolutely correct. People will tell you that these misguided few have every right to freedom of speech and they are absolutely correct. People will tell you that protest is a time honored American tradition with its roots in the Revolution and they will also be correct.

But who will tell the protesters gathered out in front of the White House with their lame issues and tired old slogans the cost of these rights? Who will tell the protesters that with freedom, comes sacrifices and vigilance? Who will explain to these children of privilege the price paid so that they can spit in the face of those who died on September 11th?

I have been listening to the supporters of those poised to protest against the war on terrorism on the television and radio. They say they are protesting the war. They are not. Our part of the war hasn't even started yet. They are protesting so that America doesn't react to the war made on us. They are protesting to prevent us from retaliation against those who have killed so many of our friends, family and neighbors. They are protesting so that we do nothing to ensure their children's or their grandchildren's right to protest in the future. They are protesting to put forth their cynical belief that the effort made to give them these rights should no longer be pursued. They have joined Osama bin Laden in saying that our way of life does not deserve to survive.

These poor ignorant kids are being led down the garden path by a group of "has been" 1960's radicals, passed over by the world while they have lived their miserable little lives reliving the memories of protesting Vietnam. Suddenly, the country they hate has been attacked so they have dusted off their peace symbols and bell bottoms, and seek to live vicariously through the dull witted youths from their classrooms.

In the Vietnam War, we were involved in the civil unrest of a once united country that had been artificially separated into two camps. The North, which believed that enslaving the people was good and the South, which disagreed. The people leading the protests of today supported the North. In the war on terrorism there is little ambiguity. The enemy has killed our people on our soil. They have a stated goal to kill as many Americans as they can find. Including the protesters. They have made it known that they have no regard for human life, ours or theirs. These are the people the protesters would have us ignore for killing our citizens. These are the people the protesters would have us coddle. These are the people the protesters would have destroy us so that we can avoid using military force. To me there is at least one clear enemy…maybe two.
