The Radical Professors

Even before the attacks on the United States, many college and university professors were prone to say bad things about the United States. This isn't anything new. Even back when I was in college I had professors who had absolute disdain for certain aspects of our country. One of their favorite targets of ridicule and hatred was, and is, the conservatives here at home. They pretty much hate all of us. The reason they hate us is because of their perception of our stands on various political and social issues. Professors as a rule are very liberal. Some are downright extremists on the political left. Many came out of the social unrest of the 1960s when they defined themselves as opponents to the Vietnam War.

They are not unlike an aging high school football star whose whole life happened when he was 17. Nothing has come along to take its place. The same is true of the radical professors. The game was over long ago, the cheering stopped and they had nothing. So they stayed in college. Bitter people whose glory days died when the last peace symbol and plaid bell bottoms were folded away in the attic trunk. The rest of us grew up, wised up and moved on.

So they have been sitting in their tenured chairs letting their hatred of the United States fester. It isn't really even about the war, it's about the attention. Their revenge for having been passed over by the real world is their opportunity to indoctrinate the children of America as they pass through their classrooms. This has been made easier and easier by the dumbing down of the public schools, leaving the kids weak-minded and ripe for poisoning by these old relics of a bygone era.

We now find ourselves in a new war. This isn't like the last few wars, this one simply shouts legitimacy. Our people have been killed on our soil and most of the country is behind the efforts of the President to extract retribution from the perpetrators of the horrendous attacks on the New York and Washington. Do you think the radical professors are grieving the deaths of Americans? Do you think they are enraged with the righteous indignation of seeing their fellow citizens slaughtered by a foreign force? Think again. The radical professors are gleeful. They are overjoyed at the prospect of shocking polite society and impressing the undergraduates with their chic rhetoric and hip opposition to authority. They are 19 years old again and their only regret is that there is no reason for them to flee to Canada to dodge the injustice of a draft.

They aren't just the participants this time. They are the organizers. Rallying the wide eyed simpletons (students) of America's institutions of higher learning into the street so they can take bull horns and shout publicly what they have been telling their students privately for all these many years of exile. "The United States is evil." "We deserve to be attacked because of our global oppression." And other claptrap. What is even better is that the President of the United States is a Republican Conservative. They can really get into hating President Bush. After all, conservatives oppose, women's rights, abortion on demand, sexual promiscuity, homosexual rights, animal rights and the legalization of drugs.

So they support the Islamic fundamental extremists in opposition to the conservatives. Of course, they don't stop to think that the Islamic Fundamentalists make the U.S. Conservatives look positively liberal on these subjects. Of course they don't stop to think that in the event that if the people they celebrate were to gain control of the United States that the first people they would eliminate would be the radical professors. They can't stop to think about these things because when confronted with reality, the positions, ideas, ideals and convictions of the radical professors crumble into dust. The radical professors base their convictions on utopian wishes and emotional day dreams. It is a house of cards and reality is like a powerful wind just outside a closed door which they stand and hold shut for fear that their beliefs might be exposed to the outside world.

It will take the parents of future students to change this by voting with their pocketbooks. Find out what kind of subjects are being taught and what kind of professors are in the various departments in the University and pick your child's school accordingly. If you want your kid to come out of college hating their country, there are lots of places to send them. If you want your child to get an education and not indoctrination, your choices may be more limited.
